Hey, I'm Chris.
I'm a Lead Frontend Engineer specializing in React & React Native. I get products to market quickly and build awesome apps that customers love — production interfaces, design systems that survive their first year, and mobile apps shipped to the App Store and Play Store.
For the last decade that has meant 0→1 product work and the less glamorous second half: turning a prototype into software a team can actually run, and leading the people who run it. Alongside client work I build and ship desktop software under my own studio, Delacour.
Currently based in the United Kingdom working as a Forward Deployed Engineer for Lazer Technologies.
A few things I’ve shipped
Products, teams and places from the last few years — client work, side projects, and the odd photo from wherever the laptop happened to be open that week.
Things I'm building
Businesses and platforms I own rather than contract on — a tour company, a studio, and a platform for React Native engineers.
Software I ship
Desktop and web software published under Delacour. All free, all built with Tauri, React and Rust, and all running on your own machine unless they have a reason not to.
What I do
Four things, mostly overlapping. Engagements run from a few weeks of prototyping to leading a team through a full product cycle.
Frontend Engineering
Production React & TypeScript — performant interfaces and design systems that stay maintainable after launch, not just through it. Accessibility and rendering performance treated as requirements rather than polish.
Mobile Apps
React Native & Expo apps shipped to the App Store and Play Store, including the release engineering and over-the-air update paths that keep a team shipping weekly rather than quarterly.
Product & Prototyping
0→1 product work — fast iteration from an idea to something real people can use, then the unglamorous second phase where a prototype becomes software a team can run.
Technical Leadership
Leading teams and owning architecture to ship quality software at pace, which in practice means deciding what not to build as often as what to build.
Tools I reach for
What I reach for by default, not an exhaustive list. The through-line is TypeScript everywhere, Rust where it earns its keep, and tooling fast enough that nobody avoids running it.
Let's talk
Email is the fastest way through, and it reaches me rather than a queue. Bug reports for any of the apps are welcome at the same address.
