August 2016 - July 2020
In 2016, I began my career in tech with Translate Digital. During my four-year tenure, I had the privilege of working on and leading some truly amazing projects. Despite being a small team of only 2-3 developers, we achieved a lot in a short amount of time.
I had the opportunity to work on several notable projects, including Parkable, Safeswim, and The Spinoff. As a full-stack developer, I was responsible for both back-end API development and front-end development. This allowed me to develop a working prototype of any project quickly, which in turn enabled investors and owners to test the product and gather feedback to make improvements.
Our tech stack was limited to Springboot Java for the back-end APIs, which were hosted on Google Cloud Platform, and ReactJS and React Native for the front-end, hosted on Vercel. Despite its simplicity, this limited tech stack allowed us to develop prototypes quickly and efficiently. Our team was essentially a startup that made startups for startups, having built several greenfield projects for others, including Safeswim, Stickybeak, Campable, The Spinoff, Civilshare, and Spend My Super.
Translate Digital was instrumental in my growth as a developer. As the company expanded, so did my skillset. I will always be grateful for the opportunities they gave me.
